WILLIAM KENNETH ALLEN Florence, S.C. William Kenneth Allen, 93, of Florence, died Friday, February 11, 2011 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mr. Allen was born in Florence, a son of the late William Drew and Percy Sauls Allen. He was a member of Eastside Christian Church, and had retired in 2006 as Owner/Operator of Allen's Pest Control. He was a lifetime member and Past Master of Amity Lodge #340 AFM, a member of the York Rite Body, the Omar Shrine, Pee Dee Shrine Club, and was Past Director of the Omar Imps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Sidney Heath Allen, who died June 12, 1980, by a granddaughter, Kam Dunn Key; and by his siblings, Joe, Houston, Willie, Moody, Cyril, Claude and Louis Allen, Mozelle Kirby, Gladys Knight, Crystal Winchester, Lyra Mae Bair, Garnetta Jordan Genesee, Letha Coker, Jessie Wilson and Lillis White. He is survived by his children; Priscilla "Kitty" Dunn of Darlington; Kenneth D. (Barbara) Allen of Florence; Dr. William Terry Allen of Charleston and Tammy Church of Florence; 6 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 14, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Effingham Cemetery.
