William Donald Silver

William Donald Silver, 74, of Florence, SC passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Mr. Silver was born in Jacksonville, FL a son of the late William Lucas Silver and Beatrice Rhodes Carmichael.He retired from CSX Railroad as an Engineer and was a member of the Hampton Lodge #204 AFM. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy (Lilly) Foskey and Larry Joe Silver; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce (Chris) Bright, and sisters, EvaLee VanAlstine and Rhonda Lawhorne. Surviving are his wife, Yanli Silver of Florence; daughters, Elizabeth Renee Westberry, Rebekah Anne (Roger) Hamelin, and Yidi Gao; grandchildren, Brittany Michelle Ryan, Breanne Megan (Daniel) Parshley, William Brandon Silver, Roger F. Hamelin, II, Joseph W. Hamelin, and Justin L. Hamelin; great-grandchildren, Christopher Dixon, Sean Dixon, Lillie Parshley, Ja’ Michael R. Hamelin, and Joseph W. Hamelin, II; brothers, William (Barbara) Silver of Alabama and Robert (Bonnie) Carmichael of Waycross, GA; sisters, Diane (Jay) Matlin of Ranger, GA and Adeline (Glen) Wiederman of Waycross, GA; brother-in-law, Larry Van Alstine of Florida; and sister-in-law, Yong Silver. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery with military and Masonic Rites.
