Willis F. Couture

Willis F. Couture, 94, of Darlington, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Mr. Couture was born the son of the late Emily Charbonneau Couture and the late Zephyr Couture.He was a veteran of the US Army and an automotive mechanic with Detroit Diesel for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Steve Minshew; brothers, Jennings, Woodrow, Earl and Fleming Couture; and sisters, Dorothy Shampine and Ethel Couture. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernice Griffin Couture; sons, Bill (Gail) Couture of Tuscaloosa, AL and Greg (Lori) Couture of Livonia, MI; daughters, Gail (Kent) Whitehead of Florence, Ann (Bob) Zahnow of North Port, FL and Kaye (Dave) Myer of Arcadia, FL; grandchildren, Cindy Joiner, Danielle Rea, Nolan Couture, Madeline Whitehead, Bailey Spitler and Shelby Ridenour; and a number of great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Florence Baptist Temple Chapel directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
