Winnie Haynes Calcutt

Winnie Haynes Calcutt, 89, of Effingham, SC, passed on Friday, December 6, 2024. She was born in Pamplico, SC, the daughter of the late Kenneth Haynes and Hulda Jane Kennedy Haynes. Mrs. Calcutt was a charter member at Peace Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from Florence School District 1 where she served Greenwood Elementary School, South Side Junior High School and Briggs Schools. Mrs. Calcutt had also worked at Electro-Motive and Florence Flower Shop. She was active with the American Legion Axillary. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed doing crafts and an exceptional Scrabble player. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew B. “A.B.” Calcutt, Jr.; daughter, Bonnie (Richard) Jenks; infant daughters, Mary Joyce and Baby Ann; infant son, Andrew Benson; granddaughter, Angela Denise Moore; grandson, Thomas Paul Moore Jr.; brothers, Jimmy Haynes, Johnny Haynes and George Haynes and sisters, Louise (Rex) Hobgood, Josephine (Charles) Marsh and Ruth Ann (Harvey) Bailey. Surviving are sons, Andy (Rhonda) Calcutt and Michael Calcutt; daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Moore; grandchildren, Stephen Brian (Jodie) Moore, Michael Andrew “Andy” (Alexis) Calcutt and Julie Elizabeth Calcutt; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Logan Moore; brother, Kenneth (Jeanette) Haines; sisters, Daisy (Bob) Thompson and Irene (Floyd) Hyman, along with a large number of loving nieces and nephews and her church family. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Peace Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, in Pamplico, SC.
